Transmogrified Mimesis: Concept Creatures

Amphibiotic creatures that emulate their surroundings

The Transmogrified Mimesis, designed by Maryam AlJomairi, is a collection of concept creatures that push the boundaries of design and innovation. These amphibiotic creatures have undergone a remarkable transformation, evolving from organisms with underdeveloped sensory systems to creatures with highly developed sensory and nervous systems.

What sets the Transmogrified Mimesis apart is their ability to adapt and blend seamlessly into their surroundings. In order to ensure their longevity and preserve their habitat, these creatures have acquired traits and characteristics from the existing environment. By emulating the attributes of their surroundings, including vegetation and other creatures, they have become masters of camouflage and survival.

The design process for the Transmogrified Mimesis involved meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of the creatures' hypothetical contexts. Maryam AlJomairi employed advanced technologies such as Autodesk Maya and Pixologic Zbrush for modeling and texturing, Keyshot for rendering, and Photoshop for post-processing. The result is a visually stunning collection of creatures that blur the lines between reality and imagination.

Measuring at 70cm x 40cm, each Transmogrified Mimesis creature is a testament to the designer's creativity and technical prowess. The project, led by Maryam AlJomairi, took two weeks to complete, showcasing the designer's dedication and commitment to her craft.

The Transmogrified Mimesis collection has garnered recognition and acclaim in the design world. In 2018, it was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the category of Computer Graphics, 3D Modeling, Texturing, and Rendering Design. This prestigious accolade is bestowed upon designs that demonstrate outstanding creativity, resourcefulness, and technical skill.
